I'm moving my blog to a new hosting company and redesigning the whole thing. It's a complicated process, and things will look messy for a while. Please be patient.
I successfully imported all of my previous posts, going back to 2004. I was concerned about that, but it turned out to be quite easy.
My next task will be working on the sidebars on the right. Right now, they are just the default long lists. I'll put in an "About Me," my Twitter feed, and miscellaneous other links.
When I upgraded another blog from 3.2 to 4.1, I discovered that Movable Type had greatly changed their template system. I had to relearn it. Now, with version 4.3, they've changed it again. And it's much more confusing. But I'll conquer it.
Working with templates requires a good knowledge of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). That's where you change colors, fonts, positioning, backgrounds, and many other things. MT's system divides things between two different stylesheets, so I'm constantly going back and forth between the two to find what I want. But it's coming along.
I'll also expand the menu choices at the top (currently, just Home and Archives). I like that addition. I'll include an "About Me" and "50 Things" (which was on my previous site).
It's a lot of work for something that provides ZERO income.
Career-wise, I've been hanging around and writing about and cheering on churches and pastors for the past 25 years as my denomination's Communications Director.
