This is good, another gem from GraphJam.com. I hadn't thought about how often Frodo was on the verge. But we've got:

- Falls into the Dead Marshes.

- Attacked by Gollum outside Mount Doom.
- The cliffhanger inside Mount Doom, after losing finger.

What am I missing?
